Default Newbie Jack Stand question.

Ok, I'm trying to jack up my car so I can adjust my coilovers and put on a front lower tie bar.

I've got 2 axle stands but I dont' know where to put them. I'm not using a floor jack; I'm using the spare jack, so I can't put the axle stands under the jack points since that's where the spare jack is. I'm looking at a picture of the underbody right now and I can't seem to figure out where the axles are exposed.

Where should I put the stands to support the front? to support the rear?

Thanks

Maybe I'm missing something but why don't you jack up the car on that towing loop thing at the back and at the mount right below the rad in the front? If you jack up the car at those two points then you can put the stands in the proper positions.

Yeah, I have a floor jack but it doesn't raise the car high enough to put the jack stands under the lifting points. I guess I just need a new floor jack.

I have the same problem with my cheap floor jack. Doesnt get the car high enough to do anything useful. Best thing to do is just buy a new floor jack.

You can use blocks of wood to make a cheap floor jack effectively higher to start with, better to just get a decent jack, you will be glad you did.
