can anybody help me out?
i'm thinking about buying the Rx Racing Honda B-series “Street Demon” turbo kit for my 1998 integra gsr. does anybody have any information about updating or buying a new ECU or would my stock one work?
thanks
thanks
link us to the turbo kit. give the FAQ section a look over, and see what questions may be answered ahead of time. having a turbo integra is a great treat for yourself, but it does come with a bit of extra responsibility. good luck!

I wouldn't waste money or time with ebay generic turbo kits. The manifolds are prone to cracking, the turbo's leak oil, the wastegate springs fail, the quality is just piss poor. If you want to turbocharge your car, stick with the known and proven setups.
An unmodified stock ECU will NOT work with a turbo setup of any kind. In order to keep your car reliable, you must have your car tuned on a dyno, by a competent tuner.
Visit the FAQ to learn a bit about turbocharging.
LS Vtec is a great way to make power as well, but requires a bit more skill to implement properly, as the engine needs to be completely disassembled. The rod studs must be removed by a machine shop, so they can retrofit ARP rod bolts. LSVtec is not necessary to make decent power with a turbo setup.
yeah i know about ls vtec...frankenstein motor, not worth my time, as for the b18b being turbo, hmm never really thought about it, haha we'll see i guess, insurance going down January as well as my car should be paid off by december to may of next year, a lot of extra cash can be saved and spent then, recommended turbo kit?
i had a Greddy Turbo kit on my first Integra's B18B - i'm sure i could have got way more power out of it, but sold the car instead. i wanted to keep ac/ps/cruise/abs everything

The greddy kit is great for people in CA who need to pass smog, a bit on the pricey side though. There are better options out there, IMO. Look into Peak Boost and Full Race if you want to buy a complete kit.
The cheapest way to go though is to buy everything separately, you learn much more in the process as well.
