I had PIAA's on my celica, they only lasted about 6 month's before one of the bulbs decided to blow.. and honestly these new silver stars are just as bright. From just looking you can not tell the diffrence.

My opinion is different from everybody else's.

I bought silverstars, and I returned them the same day........the difference was minimal compared to stock lights. I 'm just saving up right now to get the real thing..............

Default Is the conversion worth it?

Is there a big difference between the 9005 and 9006's (low beams)? I know you can do the conversion, but is it worth it? What are your experiences? Thanks

I've got the 9005 Silverstar conversion (like almost everyone on this board), but I don't think it is comparable to HID's. It is probably the best you can get for a simple bulb replacement. I definately think it was worth the $50 to replace the 9006 stock bulbs.

I've also got the 1157 and 194 PIAA Xtreme White bulbs in my clear corner lenses. They don't illuminate the road any better than stock bulbs (I didn't expect them to) but they look unique and they go well with the Silverstars IMO.

What are decent HID kits going for these days? When/if they come down to the $250-$300 range I might invest in a kit.

I just got my OSRAM silverstarts today.....I haven't put them in yet though. They're supposed to be similar color to stock (but a little more on the white side...no hint of blue though), but 50% brighter. I'll have to see if they really are brighter...I'll keep you updated.

kfar-

the 194's go on the outside (sidemarker of the lenses) and the 1157's go in the inside, or the front of the lense. i hope that helps!
