Off the line the B18A will beat a B16 because of the longer stroke and the fact that the B16 hasn't kicked onto the hot cam yet.

Down a 1/4 mile the B16 would probably take the LS.

I would be reluctant to buy an already-swapped B16 G2 for a number of reasons though.

Sorry for always quoting you MrFatBooty, I  to you. Anyway, just to give proof that the B18A is faster than the B16A2. My friend has a B16A2 swap in his '92 Integra with I/E and I have a '93 Interga LS (B18A1) with I/H/C/E, and I stomp him off the line and even beat him further down the line. I know I have a cat and header, but even when I didn't have them I still pulled on him. Also, we have gone to the track and I got a 15.9 w/o header and cat in the 1/4 and he got a 16.1.

you only ran 15.9 with i/h/e and cams? not insulting you or anything but that time seems kind of slow.. was it real hot out? anyway im debating getting cams right now for my LS engine but dont know if i should if i wont expect much for gains. anyway i ran a 16.0 in the 1/4 with just intake and some weight reduction.
oh also how many miles are on your car?

All I can say is wow...a competent driver WILL run better times w/ a B16A over a B18B...I went from a B18B to a B16A and due to the tranny I am still coming off the line faster, if you know how to drive a B16A is a great engine, if you only run a 16.1 in a G2 w/ a B16A your a horrible driver or you were running the track during a flood. I see B16/CRXs run HIGH 13s MILDLY moddified. I've HAD a CRX trapping high 13 mph but due to tires not running good 1/4 times (horrible 60 ft). My G3 Teg w/ a B16A abuses my friends 5gen Civic coupe w/ my old LS engine.

Agreed. I spanked a Civic Si which is about the same weight, and he ran a 15.9 which was SHIIIIITTTY. They're still slow though. Not much of an improvement over the B18B1. Take the B18A/B, give it some crower 404's, and some Si cams, and you got yourself a monster that will run with the ITR.

so your saying take a Ls and put some "crower 404's and some Si cams" and it will run with an ITR? Please do not talk anymore.
You sir, need to do some reading.

When I said I/H/C/E the C was for a flow through cat, but when I ran 15.9 all I had done was I/E. Oh yea I forgot to say that my friend w/ the B16 in his G2 only has a LS transmission. Also to answer your last question I have almost 130,000 miles on my baby.

Well, I could have a pissing match about how I have seen Si's run 14.6-14.9 w/ just i/h/e ( you gotta drive it like you hate it) and have yet to see an LS coupe run barely a mid 15.
As far as the B16A w/ an LS tranny, I can see how that would upset the engine, you gotta put a close ratio tranny on that engine, now don't say, well ,just but an S1 or S21 tranny on a B18B and it'll be just as fast, your right, it might be just as fast w/ a tranny swap but as long as you don't want to go any faster than 108 mph thats a good idea, plus on the highway you'd get owned by ANY other car from a roll because your car would run out of gears due to the low redline of an LS. I just have never had an LS beat me when I race my B16A Teg. Although, in my hatch when I had an LS and a GSR tranny I beat a 6G coupe w/ a GSR engine and a lot of mods, I think he just sucked at driving though.

Personally I'd take the b17 for the tranny....
