feel the timing belt, might be out of timing.. another thing to try if its not loose at all is do an advanced timing by loosenin the distributor where you can move it back and forth and start from the top and slowly move it to the bottom while someone is tryin to start it.
follow the fuel line from the fuel rail and you should see the fuel filter. It's like a small fruit drink can w/ a banjo bolt on top. As for the fuel pump, it is probably under the rear seats. Listen to the pump when you turned on all the electronics with the key (you should see brake warning lights, seat belt light on and such).
DOD this sounds stupid but it happened to me with my old Dodge... check your ground wires, sometimes my ish would just quit etc, then it would all work fine... sometimes i couldnt start it at all, etc

fuel filter is right next to the firewall directly to the right of the battery. u can tell what it is, because its like a black jar with a hose attached to the top and one on the bottom and the cylinder is tilted towards the left (passenger side). but its probably not the fuel filter i think... did you check if the sparkplugs were sparking at all?
