Default Throw out bearing or .............

Ok i have a problem, i have a noise in the tranny its like a grinding kinda almost sounds like a tire in a fender wheel rubbing "its hard to explain" but when i push in the clutch the noise stops no matter what gear im in. What would i need to fix or get, there was a clutch (OEM)installed about a year ago and i dont think the bearings were changed, and the car has 200K on it. Do you guys think it sounds like a throw out or pilot bearing or do i need a new tranny?

Yeah, I had the same problem in my civic. It was the
main shaft bearing. Makes a noise while driving,
disengage clutch and it goes away.

You can replace the inexpensive bearing if you know
what your doing inside a transmission, I just went
w/ a used tranny I found cause it worked out being
cheaper than the labour.

if you can drive the car just fine its probably one of the previously mentioned bearings. Basically annoying but nothing to really worry about. Its a ***** to pull the tranny to replace though.

My car makes a squeking sound when i push in the clutch sometimes. My mechanic thought that it was the throw out bearing.

He said i could leave it alone because it is just an annoying sound, it will not hurt the car. It costs quite a bit to replace.

why didn't they change the throw out bearing when they did the clutch? I'd take it back and make them change it
