Default building motor!!!

96 GSR 51,000 miles
planning on rebuilding my bottom end with some eagle rods and either ITR or CTR pistons to go with my skunk2 stage 2 head kit(not installed yet). Just wondering all the parts i need, so I can drop off all the parts to the mechanic and not have to worry about running out for little stuff. So a list of all parts i should replace: which gaskets, do i need new rod bolts new cam seal? and stuff like that.. and i am still debating between the ITR or CTR pistons. I have heard that the CTR (12:1) pistons will have to much compression for the stage 2 cams? all opinions will be greatly appreciated... thanks

its best to replace ALL your gaskets now since you've got the engine apart rather than replacing them later and having to take it apart again. since you're getting new stronger rods why replace the rod bolts?

As long as you can get 93 octane gas and have an ELECTRONIC means of tuning your fuel curve, the CTR pistons should be fine. There's no such thing as "too much compression" for the cams, whoever told you that is seriously confused. The cam seals are in the head, they have nothing to do with the bottom end.

With that little mileage on the car I don't really see the point of tearing apart the bottom end and replacing everything. Just get the pistons and have the shop install them. Get some ARP rod bolts and new rod bearings if the rods are going to be out, but otherwise I wouldn't bother with the cost of a complete overhaul. You don't want to have to pay the labor costs on that, trust me.
