Before doing any "performance" modifications, you should try to restore any lost power by doing all possible maintenance on your vehicle; and possibly a compression test to check the health of your motor.

Secondly, I recommend upgrading your suspension so you can get know your car, and because it will make it fun to drive without performance mods.

By the time you do all this, you will start knowing how much power you want out of your car and how you want to make that power, either all-motor or forced-induction(you might change your mind a few times), and you will have goals you want to meet. Either way, you'll need a good, reliable suspension.

It really comes down to personal goals and budget. What's are yours?

A 91 w/80k? Are those original miles or miles off of a re-build? If those are the original miles and the car appears to be in overall good shape, there is a good chance that the motor is too. It would respond well to a short ram air intake, header and custom exhaust, 2 1/4 I would say on the exhaust.

yep, make sure all the maintenance is taken care of.

once thats handled, i highly suggest doing a compression and leakdown test.

then head over to a dyno and get that beast tested, that way, you'll know the exact health of your engine.

i also recommend getting your oil analyzed at www.blackstone-labs.com.

once you have all that squared away, do an autocross event. you'll quickly realize that the best thing to modify is yourself, the driver.

honestly, i wouldnt even bother with drag racing that car. most soccer mom cars would be quicker and faster these days.
