Default Disappearing oil

I have a 95 integra LS DOHC. I am going through 3-4 quarts of oil between oil changes. No puddles left behind. There are traces of slight leaking but nothing that I believe adds up to 3 quarts every 3000 miles. Any ideas?

How many miles are on the engine? Worn valve seals or worn piston rings could cause oil to burn.

If you aren't leaking it, you are burning it. Like Joe said, oil is leaking into the combustion chamber through the rings or valve seals. Do you get a build up of oil on the rear bumper? Excessive oil consumption is pretty odd at 96k miles.

I would suggest a compression and leakdown test to confirm where the leak is coming from.

Run your finger across the bumper over the tailpipe. If it come off black, you're burning it.

Check ur valve cover. I leak there cuz I need to replace some studs. It doesnt look like much because it gets burnt on the exaust or goes to the back of the motor. Take it to the car wash, let it cool down, and use the engine cleaner. Spend a couple of bucks and do a good job. Then u can find a leak if u have one or u'll just have a brand new looking engine

Haven't got to the compression and leak down test but had car idling for about 15-20 minutes and it looked like there was oil built up on tailpipe. Reved the motor and car was smoking pretty good. Does this still sound like valve stems or would we be leaning towards rings?

i burned that much wellll before 96k miles. i never figured out the specific problem, but i'm sure it was an oil ring problem on cylinder 2 becuase the leakdown results were like 18% when everything else in that engine was around 7-8%
