Default Clutch options?

Ok i need some input, bored at work today and decided to call my local honda and acura dealership for clutch pricing.

Honda- I called for a price on 1997 Honda del sol v-tec

Friction- 78.38
pressure plate- 122.96 = 247.40 + my 10%(i work at at a subaru dealership)
TOB- 46.06

Acura- I called for a price on Type-R

Fricton- 82.78
pressure- 195.92 = 324.76 + 10%
TOB- 46.06

or Act for 560.00 street/strip combo with 12.5 lb flywheel

I know all three will fit my 94 ls trans cause its a b-series but my question is, is the type-r really worth the extra money, i hear the pressure plate grabs much harder? input is appreciated.

I am having trouble understanding what the prices correspond to. If you are looking for a stiffer clutch, aftermarket is the way to go since that ITR clutch is around the same price, if not more. How much power are you making?

All you need is an Exedy Stage 1 or ACT equivalent. If you're going to get a flywheel, might as well get the 8.8 ACT Prolite.

remember that your clutch/transmission dont physically see hp. all they see is torque. if you're NA, you're putting down 130wtq tops with an LS.

but your other thread states you want to go supercharger or whatever, which will get your around 160-170wtq on a good day.

I had an ACT HDSS with streetlite combo before and after i went turbo (200wtq). it did the job.

If your looking for an OEM replacement w/o absorbing the cost of an OEM then go with Exedy. I have no complaints what so ever regarding my Exedy OEM replacement clutch. It serves its purpose well in operating my acutely modified 99 GSR.
