Default whistle sound?

hi all, i've searched but can not find a thread that has a close enough description to what my 97 integra GS has been doing recently. everytime i let go of the clutch after i shift (up or down), i hear this faint whistling sound (the sound is kinda like that of a child who's first learning how to whistle...that's the best description i can give ). my teg has 125k miles on it, and everything is stock. any ideas if this is a problem (or going to lead to a problem)? thnx.

It could be the start of a through out bearing going out. Is it just when it engages?

thnx for the rply. the road noise is usually so loud that it almost drowns out the whistling sound, so u have to really listen for it. but yes, the only time (so far) i've noticed the sound is after i let go of the clutch. the car seems to run ok otherwise. although, lately, the clutch engages quite more roughly when cold.

Well I had similar problems and was told it could be the through out bearing. I waited for about six months and it got worse. When I took it apart I found that one of the springs inside started to brake out. How hard are you on your clutch? Do you race your car, ex. launching it at the track? If it is the through out bearing your OK to drive on it for a while until you need to replace the clutch. If it gets worse I would take it apart and see.
