Well, I'd be more worried about the engine and such. Look straight down in the engine bay when you first pop the hood. Right below the exhaust header, you will see a bell housing with "LSD" stamped on it in big letters (this is the tranny of course). Next to it, you'll the vehicle's VIN number (If you don't or it's scratched off, something's fish). Make sure that VIN # matches the one in the windshield.

Thanks, I will be checking this car out this Saturday (hopefully it is legit, of course except for the knob, badge, and pedals). I am very concerned about the engine and all the performance aspects of the car(I am into the whole driving part instead of the appearance, as most of you guys are).

What should I be looking at besides the LSD's VIN, should I get this inspected by the local Acura dealership (I think I will try to). Where else are there VINs? I am suspicious because of the good price, but on the otherhand it is sold by a wholeseller. It also seems that this 2001 Black ITR has been on the market for about 4 months if not more, so that makes me more fishy (it only has 13K miles). Another thing that alarmed me is that it registered in Arizona a bit (but it is/nor has been not located anywhere near Arizona), could that be the finance company reclaiming the title? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Get her inspected by a qualified mechanic if you can If they want you to purchase it, they will allow you to do that.

Should I get in writing from the wholeseller, that if the warranty has been voided that I should be entitled to receive my cash back or they pay for the repairs?

Usually I go with my gut felling. If the deal doesn't "feel" right, pass it by. There is always one more around the corner.

Yeah, I found out from the dealer that the car had a different VIN number on the bumper, so that car is a no go, but now if anyone else is selling theirs I am up to all ears

in the future when your looking at a teg you can look at the vin#
if it is an itr the vin will be jh4dc231, no matter what.....the dc231 is the model code dc 239 is gsr and so on.....the last six of the vin are the production numbers for all tegs off the line. all that does is tell you what number teg yours was on the assembly line. the console is the # for itr specific run number......
