Default Need motor history if you can help

I bought an ITR in Penn. about 2.5 yrs ago.......PY '00 #1494. It was destroyed and i have had the motor for some time and was wondering if anyone would have any info on the history, if any, of work done to it. I'm planning some work to be done and want to be sure if something was changed on the motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Without the VIN and maintenance records from the car, there is ostensibly no way of producing a paper trail for work done to that motor.

You say you're planning "work" for the motor. Assuming that means internal modifications, nothing should be stopping you from getting empirical data on the health of the motor by yourself.

Check the leakdown rates for each cylinder using a compression/leakdown tester and compressed air.
