Reminder - EVERYONE CHANGING OIL
If I could post this to all forums I would.
Have noticed that there seems to be an issue with some dealers replacing the crush washer when changing the oil.
One local dealer that has serviced our family's Acura's has failed to do this with tow seperate vehicles, repeatedly. when asked beforehand their stock answer is 'yes - we always do it', but they don't. Even a meeting with the service manager didn't stop their not replacing the crish washers, as if it's up to the customer to take these kind of measures.
Another dealer I started going to now states 'replace crush washer' right in their oil specials.
Non-Acura service centers/ oil change outlets, may not even do it or have the right washers.
The thing is, if it isn't replaced at recommended intervals the oil slowly drips. Most likely on your garage floor.
It pays to ask and make sure they do. Since it retains the oil, it may be the single most important piece on the car.

Doing work yourself is fine for many people, and yes, you can save by doing it. However, some people don't have a good place to work on their cars (including a lift for some jobs), some don't have the tools, some don't have the time, some don't have the expertise and don't want to spend the time to acquire it, and some just don't enjoy it and don't mind paying a professional to do so.
The free car wash is just soap, water, and a dirty mitt. Go to a touchless wash and get wax.
