Code 13 91 integra OBD-0????????
Ok guys I bought this 91 integra from some d-bag kid who knew nothing about cars for $600. Now I'm trying to get it to pass smog and the check engine light is on. I tried changing all the sensors on the B18A1 and the light did not go away. Took it to a mechaninic and he say the ecu is throwing code 13 and that he thought it had the wrong ecu in it from an automatic, so I bought a 5sp ecu and put it in and the code still comes up. I am pullin hairs out of my head at this point and do not want to take it to a mechanic again and pay $100 dollars to learn from him that the ecu is throwing a code and he doesnt know how to fix it. I would really like some help on this one guys I dont' know what else to do.
Okay looked up what code 13 was for integras and it is the atmospheric pressure switch (BARO switch). Does anyone know what that switch is? Where is it on a 5sp car? Maybe the car was originally automatic how do I find out?
Found the pinout for a pr4 obd-0 91 integra and found the wire on the pinout for the atmospheric pressure sensor, it's called a PA sensor, but didn't find the wire on the ecu. Now i'm really confused. What is this code 13 then. The car isnt' even wired to have it so why would the ecu throw the code?? Will the car be effected by the code 13 interms of exhaust gasses?? I'm tempted to just clip the wire for check engine light and be done with it. any suggestions woudl help.

So I clipped the wire from the ECU to the check engine light, adjusted the valves, set the timing, bought new plugs, wires, dizzy, cap and rotor. Took it to a pre-test center for smog check in cali and omg the car was mind blowingly bad-- labeled a gross poluter. So now I've got no idea what to do with this paper weight. Won't stop throwing code 13, won't smog, and still gets bad gas mileage (it improved with the valve adjustment but not as much as I had hoped) Any suggestions for the tail pipe emissions to go down??? is there anyway to lean out the car? Is it running to rich because of the check engine light? or is my cat dunskies?
Oh man on another note what do I do if I replace the dash but leave the different VIN on the dash I put in. Do I pop the little purple VIN off. My friend got pulled over and throwin in jail for this violation and they detained him impouned the car for a night and then released him when they looked at the other VIN's on the car that all matched.
I looked at my 94 honda civic factory manual about how to diagnos code 13. In the manual it says to substitute a known good ecu and reset it. If the code still comes up then a test drive is then needed. So does anyone in the sacramento california have an ecu that is OBD-0 and is "known to be good"
Not many of the people on here really pay close attention to the vehicle specific forums on here, So not much knowledge on a complicateing question like this gets answered... With older cars a more elite forum is ideal. G3 Integra's billow over HAN and Team integra. Try www.g2ic.com thats where i get all my info from.
Here's what i come across.
code 3 is the MAP sensor. Here's what I found to trouble shoot code 13. (of course I'll adlib in order not to break any copyright laws)
1) Turn ignition off. Remove HAZARD fuse at the battery poitive terminal for 10 sec. This resets the ECU. Turn ignition on. Verify if CHECK ENGINE and LED lights are on. If lights are not on, the problem is intermittent. Test drive, and retest.
2) If the CHECK ENGINE light is on and LED indicates Code 13, turn ignition of. Connect ECU test harness to main harness, not ECU. On A/T models, disconnect 18-pin connector from A/T control unit. Check continuity between C9 and ground.
3) If continuity is there, repair short in RED/WHITE wire between ECU terminal C9 and A/T control unit. If no continuity is present, swap with a known good A/T control unit and recheck. If Code 13 is not indicated, replace A/T control unit.
4) If Code 13 is still present, turn ignition off. Remove HAZARD fuse, like in 1. Swap ECU. Turn ignition on. If CHECK ENGINE LIGHT is on and Code 13 is present, replace ECU (BA sensor is built into ECU).

Now here's the curve ball out of left field, the car is an original 5 speed, not an automatic conversion. I'll try the procedure descirbed above adn see what happens. Thanks for the advise. If I can't figure it out ahould I just go take it to a dealer and have them figure it out for the diagnostic fee??
