Well, a longer perf-core resonator will help cure the buzzy higher-pitched sounds. But with 2.5" tubing, expect a fair bit of low-pitched drone at cruising speeds. I speak from experience because I used the same diameter mandrel-bent tubing with a similar muffler and resonator on my last car, a 91 GTI.

IMO, you're still better off with a system like the Apexi WSII. It has plenty of flow capacity for minor bolt-ons and it does a much better job of managing sound at highway speeds.

Yea, I'll probably go with the WSII, will it work well with 2.5" mandrel-bent piping? Thats what I was thinking of getting.

No.
The WSII is a fully welded cat-back exhaust using 60 mm mandrel-bent mild steel tubing. While you could replace the 60 mm tubing with 2.5 inch tubing, it's a pointless waste of money given your goals.

60 mm ÷ 25.4mm / inch = 2.36 inch

The reduction in diameter for the WSII is trivial... we're talking about an 1/8th of an inch here.

The only reason why I said to go for 2.5" is because I just got the muffler. The catback costs like a lil over 500 with taxes n shipping n stuff... I can get 2.5" mandrel-bent custom piping for a lil less thatn $100 plus the muffler was $205, so it comes out to like give or take $300.

Go for it if you want, but be aware that it may drone and buzz more than you want it to.

In my experience with a 2.5 in exhaust on an N/A motor... the 2.5 in tubing produced a fairly loud droning D-flat at about 75 mph on the freeway. By comparison, the WSII is much more tolerable IMO.

It's your choice.

Well I got my full exhaust installed today... Itr 4-1 header, hiflow cat, 2.5" piping, and apexi ws2 universal muffler. At first no resonator was installed, so when i tried it out, it was wayyyyy too loud for me... then I went back and he installed a resonator and it quieted down a lot. The only time it gets really loud is when vtec kicks in. I don't mind how loud it is, but I was thinking it would be a lot quieter.
