maybe a dumb question, but whats with this header? does it need welded or is it held together by those springs?

It looks like they provide support to the collector while still allowing for some free movement between the components. The 2 piece design helps avoid cracks in the tubing due to vibration.

since they're just slip ons like that, would there be any exhaust leaks?
