Default '90 Integra starting problem: help?

Wife's car has a stubborn and reoccuring problem. She puts ignition key in, turns, no start. No cranking noise. BUT, most of the time the car starts right up like it's supposed to.
Last Saturday she just drove from home to a clothing exchange, maybe a 6 or 7 minute trip. Parked car, did whatever, came out, tried repeatedly, car no start. I came over, put key in ignition, varoom. Starts right up. Turned off car, tried again, started again. Towed to repair facility, they couldn't duplicate the no start problem. Picked up the car, had to start it twice, no problem. Took car to her work so she could drive it home. Guess what? Yep. No start. I couldn't even start it. Called tow truck, driver says when he got to the repair facility he was able to start it right up.
??????
Car is '90 Acura Integra GS hatchback. Starting system (alternator, battery, starter, etc.) was pronounced OKAY. Help?
Thanks,

had the same problem spent 2 weeks traceing it out just about riped the car apart ended up being the fuel/ignition control(i think this is its name but heard it called couple other things) anyway its under the dash on the driver side you need to remove the lower instrument panel cover(above your knees 3 screws hold it then you need to remove the metal panel reinforcment(4 ten mm bolts)its the only brown box youll see when you look up its just left of the steering colum if you unplug it wait a sec plug back in it will start i still drive with the panels off its a pricey part hope this helps

When the car does not start: Do all the instrument lights, radio, climate control(air) come on when you turn the key to on? Do they dim or go out when you turn the key to start?

Random question: Has the car ever been stolen or hotwired?

Its either a relay problem in the starting circuit, another one is the ignition coil in the distributor. They could overheat and will not let u start not unless they cool down.

fuel relay. every year at the start of summer half a dozen of you guys show up with interminent starting problems. You need buy a new PGM-FI realy. search for old threads t properly diagnose the problem and to locae the realy. But the easiest way is if when it doesn't start listen for the fuel pump to prime when you first turn the car on, if not, the relay is bad
