Default Normail oil burning?

Well, I know that when you go into VTEC, you burn more oil. But is it normal that every time I dog on my car, I smell oil when I get out?

Honda engines are notorious for burning oil, just keep it in check and topped off.

Check the cam seal, they love to leak.

You sure it is burning in the combustion chamber and not leaking and then burning on a hot exhaust pipe?

given that my piston rings and/or my valve seals are shot i smell it bad due to a cracked exhaust manifold, but before all these things happened i never had a problem like this. i mean it still burned oil slightly when i would go for a "pleasure" drives on the curvy roads i live on, but i never had a serious issue of smelling it. so somewhere along the line something is wrong it just may not be too serious. so unless it's some serious burning issues/leak it should be ok.

I loose not one drop of oil between changes after my rebuild. If your loosing oil, theres a problem. Check for a leak, and if nothing is apparent then do a compression test.
