given that my piston rings and/or my valve seals are shot i smell it bad due to a cracked exhaust manifold, but before all these things happened i never had a problem like this. i mean it still burned oil slightly when i would go for a "pleasure" drives on the curvy roads i live on, but i never had a serious issue of smelling it. so somewhere along the line something is wrong it just may not be too serious. so unless it's some serious burning issues/leak it should be ok.
I loose not one drop of oil between changes after my rebuild. If your loosing oil, theres a problem. Check for a leak, and if nothing is apparent then do a compression test.
after a roughly a 20 to 30 min drive on the freeway my gsr smeel like burned oil aswell...dont know exactly what it is but im guesing its the valve seals since i just rebuilt my bottom end....but i still need to look into it because as of now im just guesing...= l
