Default Hatch stuck on G3

The hatch on my G3 wont open! I can hear it clicking when I lock/unlock the doors, but when I push on the lever, it wont release.

Any ideas on what the problem might be? Or just how to open it manually?

Thanks

Yea it was pain in the ass with my 98 LS, my doorlocks would sometimes jam or click but not open. Take the key and put it in the trunk slot and turn it to the open position but KEEP IT THERE. While the key's turned, push on the lever and it should open.

It worked! Once.
I closed it up to test if I was going to be able to duplicate that trick and the answer is no. It's still stuck.

Yea it's gonna keep getting stuck til you fix it but if you need to open the hatch just do what I mentioned before.

you dont' really need to slide the lever over to open it with the key held in posistion. I had to replace the hatch acutator. It'll run you around 30-40 bucks at a junkyard.

Thats what i did with mine, just opened up the hactch, took out the trim, tested the actuator with a meter, pulled it out and it was working but extremely weak. Went the junkyard, plugged the other in a and walla. Takes maybe 10 mins to intstall. There's only i think 4 bolts holding it in. Encredibly easy to fix. Hope that helps

Lets hope it decides to work this morning so that I can get the junk out of there withouth having to climb through my back seat.

Is there another trick to getting it open before I replace the actuator?
