Default [broken] wheel stud

Hi I have a broken front wheel stud. And I'm trying to take off the axle nut but it is way to tight I have sprayed it with pb blaster/wd40 I really dont think its going to come off does any one have any tips on a way that I can break it free? I'm talking about the bolt that is 32mm.

Get as much leverage as you can. What size breaker bar are you using?

you did straighten out the lock tab, right?

i assume you don't have access to air tools so instead a breaker bar + extension pipe should break that nut free with little effort.

put the wheel back on and try loosening it with the car still on the ground (if you aren't already).

Yep, that one always takes a cheater bar hooked to a very sturdy solid bar socket wrench. I've torn the heads up on two socket wrenches just on that nut alone.

Nope I dont have acess to air tools but my friend said he would let me borrow his compressor so I'm going to try to see if that works. Im just afraid of rounding the bolt.

I used part of the handle from my jack as my breaker bar for that bolt and tight lug nuts on my dad's truck, works great.

The bolt is pretty strong. I haven't heard of anyone rounding it.

If the compressor doesn't work, pick up the biggest breaker bar you can find and then a 6 foot section of pipe to stick over it to give you enough leverage.

I was able to do mine with just my body weight (150 lbs) and a 24" breaker bar.

Is it recommended to change the axle nut whenever it is removed, or just with a new axle?

honda asks you to replace it, but i haven't yet, and i've pulled it off a number of times. i do have replacements ready though.

just make sure to torque it to spec (134 ft-lbs, i think), and lock the tab.

Just rub it in, why don't you?

I typically will change the axle nut only if a new one is provided with the new axles. If the old one still looks good, it is alright to reuse it and torque to 134 ft/lbs (or just really f-ing tight), like Reno said.
