Default Radiator Issue 98 GSR?

How's everyone doing? Hopefully ok. I'm sure everyone's ready for March Madness. Anyway, notice I have a leak from radiator. I looked under car can't seem to pin point the leak. So Thurs I'm taking car to dealer & have them look at it. Hopefully, it's not the radiator.
So have anyone ever experienced any problems with their stock radiator leaking. I pray it's not the radiator because don't want to replace it w/ another stock radiator because I wanted to get a fluidyne one later. If push come to shove I'll go oem for now & get one in the future.
Thanks for any imput

have you checked the hoses for leaks? if not then pour water into the radiator to see if the hoses are leaking. at worst you find out if it's the hoses or find the spot where your leaking from!!

I looked but didn't pour water in radiator. I'll try that & see. Is your radiator oem or do you have a aftermarket.

what they'll do is put a cooling system pressure test kit on, and pump your cooling system to a 17 psi or so. if it holds at 17psi for a couple of minutes you're good to go.

if theres a leak lets say at the head gasket, it wont hold the pressure very long, but you wont see coolant spilling on the ground.

buuut if its anywhere on your radiator or hoses, you'll see the fluid spewing right away.

Found out it was my radiator cracked . I was lucky not to have it overheat to cause any engine damage . I'm having them install a new oem radiator.
I forgot my boy have a fluidyne radiator in his Gsr but he had to get a smaller fan because of his headers.
I'll get one in the future. BTW I have 111 & some change.

My local Acura "stealership" wanted full list price for a rad, which was close to $400. I ended up with a Fluidyne full size for around $300 shipped, from ebay. There are lots of knockoffs on ebay though, make sure you email them and ask if its authentic. Modacar.com also sells them at a reasonable price. I got my 12" slim fan on HT for $45 shipped.

Some of the guys on HT have had good luck with "Mushimito" or whatever its called, for under 200$. You might look into them if your strapped for cash.

I have a quick related question. I recently replaced my OEM radiator with a Koyo aluminum core that I got off ebay. I've noticed that when I turn my fans on, I can smell coolant while I'm driving. I haven't noticed any coolant leaks And my fluid levels seem good. Any ideas on what the issue might be?
