Default I feel like a tard...

Okay first, I have a 92 Integra its automatic and four door, yes the grocery getter, and I think its an LS? But anywho, I was wondering what engine I have because my brother keeps telling me to look for a B-16 engine and sell my engine on ebay to some (un)-lucky civic owner. Is this plausable and where do I go about finding this "B-16" engine and will it fit? NOPI Magizine says no, the A/C wount fit and neither will a tuned header. Next question, my brother also spoke of a very cheap upgrade that I can do to my car to give it an extra 42-hp. He couldnt remember what it was, I assumed it was a computer chip if it actually exists, has anyone heard of this or use it?

nitrous can give you a easy 42HP.

there are various site that sell engine and trannies for swap. i can think of the URL right now, but im sure others here know of it.

Tell your brother HE is the tard.
You're not going to gain 42hp by any "cheap upgrade" unless it's nitrous with a 50shot. Which will run you about $500 - $600 when all is said and done.

As far as the B16. I've seen it on a G2-Teg, my friend had one in his and it fit. I have no idea what kind of modifications he had to make to make it fit. He had a JDM B16 (1.6L VTEC) in it. It worked well and all, but it makes even less torque than our 1.8's do even now.

Anyway. I'd recommend going with a B18C swap or just modify that B18B a little bit. An Intake, Exhaust, Header, High Flow Cat, Some Suspension Work, and a 50 shot of nitrous will make it decently quick. Perhaps 14's...??

If you wanted to get into it further you could do pistons and valve springs/retainers and all that good stuff and see some good power out of the motor.
You can always go turbo too.

I dunno, I just prefer the b18b over the b16 because of the strength of the block on the b18b.

In any case... yeah, your brothers a tool about the 42hp thing; but I am 99% sure you can get a JDM B16 to fit (since I've seen it done).
Granted, the guy who did it also had a turbo type-r motor in his crx... so hes not afraid to hack some stuff up in his lil ole integra, im sure.

As far as I know, no modification is needed to put a b16 in a G2 Integra. After all, there was a JDM XSi Integra which came with one stock.

But I agree with Antarius, I'd stick with a b18b or b18c, the added torque is really a bonus with integras due to their added weight.

The G2 Integra has a B18A stock. B-series motors (except for the really old ones in the 88-91 Prelude) are all interchangeable so the B16 bolts right in. The A/C should also work just fine.

As far as putting it into your particular car, that automatic transmission ain't gonna help. Some people swap over from an automatic to a manual but most of the time it's cheaper/easier to just sell the car with the automatic and buy one with a manual.

One guy on here (shadowdawn) has a turbo'd like '00 LS automatic that puts down 189 hp to the wheels and his best run in the 1/4 is a 14.8. Granted it's in the 14's, but a GSR with boltons--which puts down around 155 hp--can run that easily.

Ask my brother for more details, he said its something that makes the engine think its running cooler than it actually is, so it raises your red line, but runs the risk of over heating very quikly.

the b16 has 160 hp. although it has vtec it is slow off the line due to weak ass torque. stock for stock the b16 isnt much faster than the b18. i was going to go vtec in mine but i think my moey would be better spent other places. as for the b18c you would have to convert the gen2's cable clutch into a hydro clutch, not an easy task if i were you id mod the b18 you have

ps the b16 is ia direct swap for 90-91 integras you can use the stock mounts.
