Definitely not a grinding noise. It is a high pitched whirring or whistling sound.

I'm glad I ran across this, I bought the exedy kit. Have not mounted the tranny yet, do you guys recomend I get an OEM instead of the one supplied?

-Sorry to Jack your thread
I have the exedy stage 1 clutch installed on my GSR, and after 10,000 miles, it does not make any sound at all.But if you buy the OEM piece then you'll know for sure you won't have any issues.

BTW- this clutch works great!

No, but the sound of it will eventually drive you up a wall. I would replace mine, but I don't have another person strong enough to help me get the tranny back on.

I will replace as soon as I can. Thanks for the info. Right now I've got a bad starter to replace. It's a pain in the ass to hit it with a pipe when I want to start it.
