Default Need Help w/broken PCV valve in my 90 ls

I was changing the PCV in my 90 ls (b18A1) and when I pulled the valve up it broke in half, flush with the intake manifold. Me and my friend tried getting it out and broke a few more smaller pieces off of the remaining valve but the bottom part of the valve is still in there. Now I have run out of ideas as to how to get this last part out...if any of you have run into this problem or have any ideas please let me know...Thanks

Heat the tip of small screw driver until it looks hot enough to melt the plastic. Get it to the broken piece while it is hot so the tip of the screw driver pierces the plastic of the remaining PCV valve. At that point it should give you enough hold on the remaining piece to fanagle it out.
