Turbocharging a GSR [Split from SC/ TC thread]

heres a question....if you have a GSR an want to add a turbo but dont want Vtec to hit ...for what ever reason....is it possible to get a LS ECU for the GSR so it wont crack Vtec?????

or you can buy cams that eliminate vtec....but why would u even waste the money on a vtec motor in teh first place if your going to eliminate the part that makes that motor worht so much more

if u already have a 1999 GSR and wish to make it a turbo with out having VTEC TURBO isues would this work...the main reaosn i was thinking aboutthis was to keep the compression of the GSR eninge but with no Vtec...

would adding the LS ecu on to a GSR setup keep the compression of the GSR instead of the LS but not crack Vtec....? and is this safe for the engine....all the local GSR turbo's dont last long... looking for an alternative....

adding an ls ecu to a gsr is retarded and i don't see any point in why you would even think of doing especially if your looking to boost your car. if your boosting the best ecu to have is a chipped one that is tuned specificly for your car.

Why would you take vtec out on a GSR Turbo, wouldn't vtec make you more Hp?

yes it will.


an ls ecu WILL run a b18c, but who knows if it causes problems or not--- plus it makes no sense.
