Default Supercharger or Turbocharger

Hey guys, I'm thinking about upgrading my 2000 GSR. I'm inexperience when come to the car but I want my car to go really fast. Basically I'm not sastify with stock engine. Anyway I've been doing some research but still can't decide which is better supercharger or turbocharger. Any advice will be helpful also what other things do I need to upgrade since I'm going to be putting more horsepower to the stock engine. Oh and 1 more question how much does installation runs and how long will it takes?

First you need to do a search. But turbos work better for our cars. You should do alot of research befor buying and installing a turbo. You need to list your power goals and what you want to do with the car.

if you jump into a boost project right now you'll be in way over your head and likely to be taken by a shop that'll see you coming a mile away. do lots more research in the f/i forums at h-t and www.homemadeturbo.com

as far as answering your question I would suggest turbo due to the fact that it really is the most efficient way to add power to almost any application. A supercharger takes away power to produce power(not much, but it still adds additional friction on the engine initially to spin the supercharger since they're belt driven) where as a turbo takes essentially "trash" and produces power out of it... but like everyone will tell you do PLENTY of research b4 you dive into it b/c I've been researching/stock piling parts for the past 2 yrs and i'm almost ready to do it(of course i've been slowed down slightly by school, but hey I gotta make a living some day)

Since you know almost nothing about this stuff, just go with a jackson racing supercharger. Superchargers aren't as finicky as turbos.

cute. careful though this guy might take you seriously.

seriously do your own research... everyone has their own opinions and can spend your money and build you 500 different kinds of turbo/sc kits. but this is YOUR car, so YOU should know what is going into it.

fin.
