Make sure you get a new valve cover gasket. Good luck!

I just had a valve adjustment done on my car. It usually an hour of labor ($90) plus the cost of a new valve cover gasket from the dealer ($43) plus tax. If you do it yourself, you should have someone with you who has done it before. It's somewhat involved, and if you do it wrong, you can really mess up your engine.

It really isn't too difficult more then it is time consuming. You can do it not hard.

If you can change oil, this is like step 2. One of the easiest things you can do. When in doubt, consult your Helms.

On my '90 LS, the locknut takes a 12-mm wrench.

You'll need to re-torque the crank pulley bolt after adjusting the vale per helms manual.
