Just finished clutch install...YAY!!!!
I just finished about an hour ago. I did start last thursday, but I had to wait for some ball joint boots which came today. I installed an exedy stage 1 and act streetlight flywheel. The clutch works fine (no noises, squeaking, chattering etc...) The motor revs faster with the flywheel, but not quite as much as I was predicting. Now i'm starting to think that maybe I could have gone with the prolite. I suppose I shouldn't start regretting anything since I just finished the install and i'm still breaking it in.
Anyways, for anybody who is teetering on whether or not to DYI clutch install don't think twice. It wasn't nearly as complicated as I thought and I learned quite a bit. The experience was well worth it. However, I have been building up to this project for a number of years. In other words, i'm not a complete newb when it comes to mechanics. But if you have any mechanical depth at all then I say go for it. I want to say thanks to everybody who had advice for me throughout this thing. And also would like to acknowledge TI for the DYI article. It's all I had and it worked great.
