Got a 96 SE and the a/c when it does work, doesn't work very well. It tends to blow hot air when the car goes up hills or is under heavy acceleration, or simply when its too hot out. For those of you from soCal you know that we spent most of this summer well into the triple digits. What I'm wondering is what can be done to boost the performance of the A/C. Is there any belts I should replace, any aftermarket part I can buy? I've already checked the freon level and its fine and not leaking. Earlier this summer I replace the auxilary fan motor which improved performance of the AC emensly. Some time before next summer I want to do something to my car soI can get that "Ice Cold" sensation when I hop in.

Your condensor is most likely shot. If you replace that the a/c should blow sub-zero.

^^^ x2 thats sound like your culprit, replace that and you should be fine
