Default What spring rate is everyone running?

I just wanted to know the spring rate on your guys' coilovers... I want to see what everyone is running, how the car feels, and if you like it... I know Schmoo is running a 350f/450r...

I have KSport coilovers with the older spring rates, 614f/335r, in my sedan with front and rear STBs (front is triangulated) and my car rides pretty well. I wouldn't say it's smooth, but it's not as harsh as one would assume with the spring rates I have. I played with the shock damping settings and got them at just the right setting.

Aside from comfort, my car handles like a freaking beast...a couple weeks ago I was following a friend in an STi through an on-ramp comfortably while he was feeling he was pushing his car...and I have Falken Ziex ZE512s...good, but definitely not the best. I've also seen 1.02G through a corner on my Beltronics Vector FX1...and that was before my 22mm rear sway bar. Kinda says something if you ask me.

Ground Control 375/250, KYB AGX shocks

I live in saint louis and the roads are crap in many areas. Uneven pavement can be a little bouncy but overall not too bad. Handles pretty nuetral. If I did it again. I would go like 400/200~225 or maybe adding an 800lb tender to the rear 250lb spring.

I went through all of this and did some math based on this pretty cool site. Looks like my idea of increasing the front or lowering the rear rate a bit seems correct.

Spring rate determiner
http://www.ae92gts.com/ae92gts_susp_dyn.html
Weight Distribution 61/39(for '96 integra GSR)
F: 380(my rate front) = R: 242(determined Rate)
R: 250(my rate rear) = F: 391(determined Rate)

Based on my experience.... 400lb in the front would be starting in on the stiff side. Anything less than 300lb in the front would start feeling too loose for performance springs.

You would basically need to descide what type of tradeoffs you are willing to take. street vs. track, comfort vs. rough.......
Based on the rates and user opinions.....the Eibach Pro kit does a pretty good job of giving best of both.

Eibach Prokit
Front: 331 lb/in
Rear: 126 to 194 lb/in

sometimes it gets a bit irritating on rough road. i can't even imagine what it's like for you guys running upper 300, 400s..

yeah sometimes I question my sanity for getting such stiff rates, you cringe everytime you see a bump coming. But you do get used to it. and once you get on nice roads it feels fine. even with complete poly bushings, koni yellows, and the 400 pounders, on a good interstate the ride is smooth and quiet.

Just earlier today i ordered my suspension. I ended up getting the koni yellows/GC coilovers w/ a custom spring rate of 350f/400r. Hopefully it isnt too rough on So.Cal roads... haha most likely it will be but im sure it tolarable... Cant wait to receive them and see how those puppies ride.

They shouldn't be too bad. When I was in Socal, the 350F, 450R setup was just fine. Make sure you avoid potholes and ruts, though.
