Default broken screw on valve cover?

ok well basically i let my buddy take a look under the hood of my '90 teg ls non-vtec to try and see if he could find out where i was leaking oil, well he thought it was coming from the valve cover seal so he tried tightening one of the screws that bolts in the valve cover but he broke the head of the bolt right off so now it looks like its stuck in there good..so i was wondering if this is a big deal at all and if i have to change iot how shoudl i go about getting it outt??? , alright thanks everyonee

You have to take the whole cover off and undo the shaft. It is threaded on both sides and you can grasp it in the ctr. w/a wrench and turn it out of there. The dealer should have those on hand and they are about 3 bucks a piece.

Spec on valve cover nuts is 8lb-ft. That is 'snug,' not 'tight.'

yea i figured that out the hard way... i changed my gsr valve cover from black, to red.. red is a type-r color.. but i'm goin with gray an red for my car colors.. an i tighted the nuts too tight. so when i went to loosin the nuts they where just spinning on the bolt... so i had to cut them off an buy two new ones... an buy new rubber an metal washers.. it ended up costing 50.00... for the parts..
