you need mods! like intake mainfold and cams in addiation to the typical i/h/e(depending on how aggresive u go with the mods u will want something better then a VAFC to tune it with)

all i did was upgrade the cams, valves, ratainers, and springs, did a port and polish with balancing and looking into geeting bigger injectors and upgraded fuel pump, so you definitely do need some mods, then go get it tuned, im pushing around 210 to the wheels, looking to get at least 250HP before i think of turboing it, still runing stock ecu and mani, so still a lot of power left...

just a guess not an real number guys, no offense but i do think 200 should be there, i always beat cars that have more HP than me, my car keeps up with an SRT4 and those supercharged Cobalts, so it just suprises me why i beat those cars or keep up, when i tell people what i have done to the car they think im pushin 240, i say no just around 220, either there dumb or else, im just messin with them, but cmon my engine comes 170HP stock, are you telling me i dont even have 190, how much do you think i have then, i never took it to a dyno cause im afraid it might be a lower # than expected like 180-185..... sorry for throwing out numbers......

maybe 160 to 165 at the wheels, and yoru cars comes with 170 at the fly, that right there tells me ur eally don't know what u are talken about, u are no where close to 200, and 160 to 65 is being nice, sorry bro, but u don't have the set up for it, and u are running a stock ecu which tells me taht u really don't have that much mods that is affecting your car's stock fuel maps which also tells me your mods are not that aggresive

Just for the record a good head job can get you anywhere from 11-19 hp depending on the level of the port. W/ that being said, a ported/polished head increases the hp value of future mods. So yeah, all and all I would get it to a dyno and see what you are really working with. It may feel like 220 but ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, how would you really know?

not so much on a vtec head on a non vtec head u gain a lot, cause vtec head flows pretty well, and he still has his stock gsr mainfold, so with all that headwork he is not utilizing it becasue he is not increasing the amount of flow being able to get into the motor

Don't get me wrong he has a good starting platfrom, but u can only expect so much, i mean there are guys with 12 to 1 pistons, knife edge crank, cams, port polish, intakemainfold and they are only droppen like 210 whp...

once u get more stuff added and get some tunning and fueling u will start to achieve high hp numbers, but as u stated u not thinkin about turboing till u get to 250, but once u get there( highly doubtful) all the shit u have n/a will not work with a turbo set up FYI

I'm with you on this, and you see what I am saying. W/all the right all motor mods. & tuning he''ll get get 210 easy. W/the added buid he can handle some NOS and then BAM!!!!!!!!! Funny how NOS can make that kind of difference.
