Default LS ECU q: auto same as manual?

i did a search on this, and i found that i can use a auto obd1 ecu with a manual tranny. im getting a jdm b18b w/ ecu for cheap b/c its auto. when i attach the manual tranny, will the ecu freak out if it doesnt have any of the auto tranny stuff hooked up?? are both manual and auto ecus p75s?

also, i need to get a new flywheel and clutch rite? (assuming that i dont get them with the tranny)

They're both P75. All P75 is really, is just part of the part number for all OBD1 and OBD2 non-VTEC B18 ECU's. I'm pretty sure there are some internal differences between the auto and manual ECUs, what they are I don't know.

This whole "I'm getting a swap with an auto tranny because it's cheap" idea sounds a bit sketchy to me...how cheap is it? LS swaps aren't very expensive to begin with.

I'm not really following what you're trying to do.

What's in the car now (motor/tranny)?

You want to mate your existing manual tranny to the 'new' b18b?

Yeah, auto is typically more $$$. Are you getting the auto tranny, or just the ECU? Why get the auto tranny if you aren't even going to use it?

Please clarify.

Here is what you need to switch to manual:
Shifter Assembly
Shifter Boot
Shifter Cables
Cable Hold downs and Firewall Gasket
Brake and Clutch Pedal assembly Clutch Master
Clutch Fluid Line
Clutch Assembly Flywheel
Flywheel to Crankshaft bolts
Manual Transmission
Clutch Slave

OBD1 Auto will work just fine
i did auto to manual swap on my 2k gs and converted with jumper harness to use OBD1.. but for some reason the manual one's runs richer than auto one's.. odd huh..
