Default AEM hybrid CAI

I'm thinking of buying my son a AEM hybrid CAI for his 92 hatch with a B16
engine switch. Has anyone done this and did you notice an improvement
with performance? I've heard of 5-10 hp gains on the dyno. He's also
going to have a hondata s200 installed soon.

Thanks,

Default hondata

With mods that he currently has, we were told that not only would the
engine run more efficiently, but he would pick up some hp. Also, he will
be doing cams, springs and retainers within the next 6 months and from what I understand some form or addvanced tuning is necessary at that
time. If I'm wrong, please let me know.

Thanks,

what are his current mods? if it's just bolt ons the hondata is not necessary at this point. wait until he gets the cams/valvetrain and then get hondata and tune it.

Are you talking about the v2? If so that adds like 1 horse over the traditional AEM CAI. So that outs you at maybe 6 hp total.

Default Cai

His current mods are:

.30 overbore
civic type R pistons and rings
Skunk 2 intake manifold
D/C 4 - 1 header
AEM short ram intake
b16 tranny

I'm thinking of buying the AEM hybrid CAI system for him and going ahead with the hondata system. We're going to have a appropriate map for the
hondata system now and when he buys the cams etc, we'll have it re-dynoed. What do you think?

Thanks,

well with that setup then a hondata would be a good addition. instead of an aem cai, consider just getting a cheap no name sri and putting a velocity stack from prototype racing on it. dyno's have shown better results than traditional intakes.
