Man I remember back in the day when me and newgsrdriver adjusted his throttle cable. Me, him and his boy Max all standin over the popped hood (this is in the pre-JRSC days) looking at the Helms trying to guess what the hell "preload" means. Man them's was the good ole days...

Anyway, go ahead and mess with it, just be sure you bust out a ruler and don't change anything too much.

Haha I remember that

Damn Helms manual is confusing sometimes with all these wierd words...why not just:

"Step 1 - loosen bolt"
"Step 2 - adjust"

That would work just fine!!

Yeah it comes with a bit of slack and you can tighten it up just be careful not to actually pull the throttle and keep it that way while tighening. I suggest you do it with the car idling so you can hear if you tighten it too much.

You gain some pedal response by tightening the slack up.

Yeah.
I noticed a slight difference.
I had to readjust to my clutch/gas positioning when shifting though, I always found myself slipping the clutch cause I was giving it too much gas.

It's easy, I noticed better throttle response.

Keep in mind that you will have to keep readjusting it constantly, the cable's tension goes back to its usual after a couple of months.. I used to do it until I had done it so many times that the bolt edges starting wearing out, and that's when I decided to stop playing with it and leave it.

Won't get you more speed, and if you have automatic, it'll make your shifting jerk more.
