Default water in the hatch

I've got a 93 ls, and everytime it rains, i've got a nice pool going in the hatch. I can't figure out where the water is leaking in from. The carpet doesn't really get wet, just the area under it with the spare. All along under the weather stripping of the hatch is perfectly dry, but water still ends up at the bottom of my hatch. Anyone with a similar problem or a little insight? Thanks

It seems to be a common problem with tegs. If you have a sunroof....there is a drain tube that goes into the back wheel well behind the back panel. If it is clogged or disconnected you get water in the wheel well. Next check the tail light gasket. Water can leak through the mounting holes.

good luck

On my 96 Teg, it ended up being by the tail lights that the water was leaking in. I took off the tail lights and coated the both sides of the foam gasket with silicone. To find the problem I stripped out the hatch of my Integra (takes some work and get a panel popping tool) and had my brother soak the back of the car with the hose. You don't need to strip the entire car, unless you're hoping to get at that drainage tube for the moonroof. (The water leak was a side project as I installed brown bread sound dampener) Sure enough, I eventually saw a trickle of water by one of the tail light screws.

Thanks man. I put a bunch of weather foam all over the top of the tail lights. Hopefully it'll stop the leak. I don't think it's ever going to rain in tx again though.. holy crap
