I need a new motor....
is it really worth swapping? i mean the stock b18b produces what 142 bhp and the cr-v makes waht 126 bhp. the trq rating is only like 6ftlbs more but that is all at a lower rpm. i am in the market to either rebuild or swap as well. i do want to build for boost later on but he motor is going to be relatively stock for now. to me it appears that i am going to have a bit faster bottom end but not as much power top end if i do this swap which actually isnt bad if you boost right away but i need to drive this thing for the nex few months before i boost it. am i going to be disappointed if i do this swap? anyone with experience in swapping a b18b to a b20b

in terms of adaptability, the restricting factor for the b20 is the head design, which just isnt enough for a 2 liter engine. i'd imagine you'd gain quite alot out of just a basic port job.
the b18b head and the b20b head are the same head. your best bet is to put a b16a or b18c1 head on the b20 block. its called a crv-tec and should make for a trq monster. but you will be limited in the rpm it will turn.

the b18 and the b20 have the same head.
this means that the b20 is left with the same ports, it is an extra .2l of displacement being fed through ports designed for a 1.8l
