Default G3 Antenna

My antenna wont go down - the motor is cranking, but the mast doesn't move. I'm betting it's the plastic thing is broken inside.

Three questions:
1. Can I temporarally disable the motor before I get the antenna fixed?
2. Any ideas where I can find a new antenna?
3. What kind of labor is involved with replacing this?

Thanks

go to lo-customs.com (i think that's it) and buy the shark II antenna. It looks like a s2k antenna and only costs like 30$. It works like a charm and isn't that bad to install. You just need some electrical tape and a little mcguiver action to plug in the booster. If you have any more questions feel free to pm me. I've had it in my g3 teg for over a year and the only problem i had was when a drunked kid decided to take a tree limp and baseball-bat it. It still worked after that too.

That website didn't load and Google didn't turn up anything for it.

Do you have a picture of the antenna installed?

Crap, I don't know what is wrong with the website. Like half of it loads but it looks like it's down. Anyways, here is an article. http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=815

The person who wrote the article bought the wrong antenna which is why they had to modify a brace for it. My antenna was like 10x easier to install. The one in the artcle looks almost identical to mine.

I don't have any good pics, but here it is anyway. I love it.

You can disable the motor by unpluging it from behind the actual motor (it is a harness with two wires, I believe), just don't unplug the actual atenna lead (thick black wire) or you will lose reception.

I order antenna mast from http://www.antennamastsrus.com/
If you dont need to remove the motor it's 10 mins job.

Removing a motor is not a big deal either but you will need
to disconnect the rear plastic panel. You dont need to remove the
back sit as in DIY article ...

cheers
