Having Problems w/ Skunk2 Pro Series 1
i have a 95 gsr and my mechanic and me are totally stumped and hope we can get some peoples thoughts on the following:
my car is equip w/ I/H/E
I have asked my mechanic to recently install skunk2 pro series 1 cams along with some skunk2 camgears.
skunk2 said they recommend an upgrade in the valve springs but not necessarily needed when dropping in stage 1 cams.
skunk2 also said that the Pro Series is just a better grind and harder/better metal used.
currently the problem we are having is that the car dies at idle.
when it is cold it runs okay but once it warms up it dies at idle.
it starts off with some good power when cold.
once it full warmed up, it has no power in the upper powerband especially running it on the freeway and trying to rev it up.
the cam gears are set to 0/zero. my mechanic is set on saying that the car should run okay set to 0/zero.
no check engine light.
and it has been reinstalled twice...thinking that he may have not install it correctly the first time or the timing might be off.
any thoughts or troubleshooting anyone can think of?

Make sure you don't mess with the cam timing until the car is warmed up completly. The timing is probally 10* advanced on a cold start and you might be retarding it by 10*.
I don't know, just throwing things out there.
edit: nevermind, that would be ignition timing my bad.

i had a smillar issue with my skunk2 cams, and what turn out was the cut for the distributor was off, that was why my car wouldn't idle, once warmed up, but worked fine when it was cold
EDIT: so skunk2 gave me new cams problem solved!

On my daily driver, the Skunk2 Stage 1 cams pull just fine to 8K at the 0,0 setting.. Probably something wrong with the install...
