What is it with third gear grinds? My S13 did the same thing. I replaced fluid and everything. Nothing seemed to help. I eventually got really good at rev-matching so I dealt with it fine. But It sucked and took away my straight line fun. I would have someone do it that will offer a limited warranty. If you do it and mess it up, well...

I had this too however it was my clutch that was the issue since it was pretty worn at the time I bought my car. When was the last time the clutch was replaced?

yeah I think certain things are completely unaffected by the fluid, but there plenty of times when it really cleans up the shidting.

Im not sure. There was a fast action clutch already put in when I bought the car. Ill check all that stuff when I rip out the tranny. Is there anything particular I should look for on the clutch kit to c if there is a problem(besides a wore or heat cracked clutch disk)?
