Default GSR / Type-R : Front end sits too high after new suspn inst??

Hey all,
I put JDM TypeR Struts all round my 98 GSR with Eibach Springs (1.3" lowering). Also installed is the Skunk2 camber kit. Previously installed on the car was the Type-R 5 bolt conversion, along with 5 bolt Type-R Rims.

Before I had the Type R struts/Eibach springs installed, the car sat perfect. It had PROGRESS Competition Coilovers (which I now have for sale), and was too low for my taste. As the roads here in Nova Scotia are religious, full of fuckin holes. Cracks and nasty pot holes. Anyway, now the front end has about 2 inches of wheel gap and the rear is flush with the top of the tire, what went wrong????? This is seriously affecting my handling, compared to what it should be.

facts:
- It was professionally installed, mechanic didn't understand why either, and I had Acura check the part #"s on the front lower control arms and forks and they're the same.
-I got these parts a month ago from www.jprmotors.com . They were supposedly Type R shock and Springs, Rear lower control arms and rear 23mm sway bar(those were good). I put them on with the Type R springs first but had like 4inches of wheel gap in the front, so I figured I got ripped off on the springs. Then I bought the eibachs, but its still high in the front. I'm also having issues with the sway bar brackets, are they different? But thats another story.

Please help,

Beers!

maybe, just maybe, the rear springs are in the front and the front springs are in the rear...that'll make the front sit higher than the rear.

aside from that, I can't personally think of why that would happen.

Default Type R Struts vs. Stock

haha, no thats not it, Its Type R suspension in the rear, different lower control arms all together too so it wouldn't work any either way strut wise. Everything was done correctly as far as that goes, but good goat thinkin none the less!

What about the front struts, are they diff from Type R to GSR/RS/LS/GS??
If so, then maybe the fuckers sent me a stock front setup with a Type-R rear.. Pretty low thing to do, but possible. Does anyone have any pics of both?? I'd be able to identify it!

If that did happen, I am pretty sure the back end would be up like a hotrod and the front would be too low. Saw it happen on my buddy's civic once. We were raising his car back to stock and we made that mistake. Then, the compressor went out and he had to drive it back to FT. Irwin like that, Needless to say he was pissed and could not get into any driveways.

Niice, sounds like one of those days..

Sway bar bracket wise, I figured it out, Type-R has no bracket, bolts right to the subframe. I'll make up a backing plate and no worries there.

Any ideas on the differences between the front struts (stock vs.type-R's)? Pics anyone?

not possible. switching the springs on the integra (front to back, back to front) will result in what centerforce99 described. the front would be slammed, the rear would be jacked up like a hot rod.

flyboy, can you take pics of the gap? i'm not sure if you're aware but the front fender is cut higher than the rear fender. eibach springs offer an even drop all around, so the gap in the front will be larger. however, what you describe sounds like it's a bit much, so i wonder if the Type R shocks and Type R lower control arms don't offer a bit more of a drop versus the LS/GS-R components (the ITR springs do sit a bit lower)...

btw, you said you had coilovers before. why didn't you raise the car that way?

^^ correct me if i'm wrong, but trimming the bumpstops wouldn't do anything for static ride height...it would only affect the car when the suspension is (close to) bottoming out.

Default height

Sure, I'll take some pics. We'll see what you think.. The bump stops were trimmed properly and see, my suspicion is that I might have been sent the non-Type R front struts. Its got the Eibach Prokit (1.3" all round), anyway, have a look at the pics.

The coilovers I had, they're max height was 2'' below stock, so thats why, I needed to raise it up cause our roads here are shit and bottomed out too often.

I'm just wondering tho, if the spring perches are different from Type R to Non Type R???
