Default ignition question

My car was stolen the other day and i got it back recently. luckily with very little damage. however, the ignition wont turn all the way back to off. is there something that thieves do when they steal these cars that would cause this or do you think that they did some real damage to the ignition.
thanks for any help

Are you suggesting that HAN is full of car thieves and we would know?
They probably jammed something into the ignition and screwed the cylinder up since it won't turn to the off position. The ignition switch may have been damaged also but either way it sounds expensive to fix. Is your insurance going to pick up the tab on this one?

You will have to replace your tumbler. Easy as buying one from a wrecking yard and paying a locksmith to retumble your doors to match your ignition.
