Default Problems Getting into Gear Please Help!!

Hey All,
I have a problem with my 95 GSR. Here's the thing. When I start my car and try to put it in 1st gear it won't go in and I dont want to force it in. When my car is off I don't have any problems going into any gear. So I tried leaving it on 1st gear before turning on the car. The clutch is depressed all the way down and as soon as I turn on the car it jumps and moves forward as if I wasn't holding the clutch down (the clutch is completely depressed down). Any ideas what this could be? Any advise is appreciated. Thanks

Does it happen ALL the time? Integras have a hard time getting into 1st/reverse, so when that happens to me I'll shift into 2nd then back into 1st and it works.

you really should have searched... but it's most likely a clutch and/or master cylinder problem

Probably your clutch. Either that, or your pedal needs to be adjusted big time because it is engaging at the floor.

could be the clutch hydrolic same thing is happening to my car but i had my clutch replaced last year, and yeah i know how to drive. but my car won't go into any gear until after like 1min it warms up an is ok, my clutch pedal is low then goes back to normal after about 3min. I asked the owner of the car shop he said it was the clutch hydrolic.

No... I checked the clutch pedal already and it's at 6 inches. Thats not the problem, but I'm thinking the pressure plate is faulty. Before that I'm going to check the master cylinder, thanks tegbooster! Don't think its the clutch either... but if you think about it is my pressure plate might as well change clutch and flywheel :-D Upgrades!!! Thanks guys!

It could very well be the pressure plate...and if it is, the clutch disk is probably worn enough to replace everything.

If you want to. Unless you plan on some mods that would take advantage of an upgraded clutch, it will only make your foot tired in traffic.

You might want to also check the master and slave cylinders for any leaks at the seals.

I'd bleed your clutch system and inspect both the master and slave. Readjust the pedal per factory specs.

If that doesnt work, could be anything from a bent clutch fork to issues with the PP... all which will be discovered after removal.

Keep it simple and try flushing the system.
