What type of AC refrigerant can be used in a 1989 Integra?

89's I believe run on good ol' ozone depleting R-12 refrigerant. I think it 's banned in all US states and most of Canada. Iran just announced they've successfully enriched uranium using mothballs, R-12 and kerosene.
If you want to get it recharged you have to get permission from the supreme court and have everyone within a 50 mile radius of your residence sign a waiver.

Well GOOD LUCK!

Yes, you are correct, it is R-12. I had it in the shop yesterday to check the AC system and it needed to be topped off with R-12. The place does have a license to deal with R-12, but the cost is close to $6 per oz. So, it is legal, but expensive!

Kool! I'm glad you found a place to charge the system up for ya. R-12 is pricey but I think it's still cheaper than trying to do a retrofit for R-134 or whatever the new type of freon is called.
