Haha. Acura is offering a free 45 point inspection.

man, my local Honda dealership (down the street from my dorm) won't work on my car because "we can't get parts from Acura" yet if I give their parts dept. part numbers, they can magially get them...bah! The closest Acura dealership is about an hour drive!!!

My parents are "Acura people" and they will probably never go back. I have a teg of my own, and I for sure will never go there. And the sad part is, I would be a potential life long-customer!!! Of course, they don't care.
I'm done ranting.
I agree... it's just annoying. I've got a '97 GS and my girl has a 99 accord V6. They both have roughly the same amount of miles but when it comes to maintenance it's just a hassle. There are like 6 honda dealerships within 40 miles of Albany, NY to every 1 Acura dealership. And neither one will bother to try to help me out with anything if it's not thier brand?

lots of people are asking of this is nationwide....i think it is....or at least in bigger markets.....maybe....
i got a postcard that said that i get a free inspection....on the card, it includes an engine/tranny/drivetrain check.....heck, if they check that anywhere near thouroughly, thats a good deal.....it would be nice if they pulled your tranny and gave me a compression test....but then again i dont want to pull my car in there and have the mess it up

I feel bad but there are like 3 Acura dealerships in this local area. 30 minutes drive tops if you drive slow. Too bad their service dept will never again get my buisness. Its easier to work on your own car I've found.
Not to say that Zimbrick is great, but one of their salesmen did let me give an RSX-S a proper flogging out on the back roads so I can't complain. Oh, and the Australian Integra Type-R is actually the same as our RSX-S i.e. 200 hp motor and no Brembos.
Of course my general rule is that car dealers don't know sh*t about anything not directly related to selling you a car, like if/when we'll get an RSX-R. One time I had a Mazda dealer tell me that the RX-8 was going to weigh 1900 lbs.

When I was 17 I went to a Honda dealership and they kissed my ass, yet when I went to the Acura dealership (they held the door for me because I had my dad's Integra GS-R) they pretty much ignored me and didn't make an attempt to sell the car I was sitting in (I think it was a Vigor or TL). Noone else was in the frikken please either, they just stood in a circle and shot the breeze. Jackasses. That's just one experience....it's happened many times. The service at Honda dealers is far and away better than at Acura ones. Maybe it's just the scumbag salespeople I've dealt with and it's isolated, but that's my general feeling. Acura dealerships have HORRIBLE service. I bought my car from my friend and I get it serviced by another friend at the same dealership's parts department (he's the service manager) who is REALLY into cars, and he gives me discounts.
Yup... even when I went with my girl to buy her 99 Accord V6 at Keeler Honda (also has a subsidiary BMW & Mercedes Dealer next door) they were more than helpful than Acura.
We rolled up in her mint 325i, they gave us the keys to the S2000, and the Accord and were more than helpful. Aside from selling the Accord we told them we would buy the next morning (promised me we didn't need a down payment to hold it) they happily found the same car w/ same options, w/ less miles and $1000 cheaper for us.
