Ever since I did this JDM b18b into my 97 cx I have had nothing but problems with the darn distributor. A while ago while driving it would bogg really bad, then shut off and have a CEL. codes 8&9 came on, went out bought a BRAND NEW dizzy, came home installed it set it at 16 BTDC and went off. This was about a month ago, now again today it does the same thing. Just got home from being towed 10 miles because it shut off, wont drive past 10ft and what do you know? A code 8&9 yet again.
Now any ideas here? With the d motor I had no issues. Only wires on this harness I cut was to extend the 02 sensors, and for the IAVC swap. Nothing else is cut.
My cams are perfectly lined up at TDC with the crank as well.
yup i got the right dizzy, well this one is getting replaced under warranty since its only 20 days old. Im getting the new one, looking over every wire in the bay, resoldering joints, shrink tubing them, taping them water tight, cleaning all grounds and ill re-check timing again and ignition timing 100x's over. If it goes again im totally lost.
anyone else wanna put in some opinion before I get my new dizzy in??? Anything else I should check? I cant keep replacing dizzy's here becasue these two queer sensors.
