Default Need more head room

I have a 95GSR Sedan. I've tried the search option but it ends up being way too broad of a search, I cant find anything on head room or seats or whatever.

I'm 6'2" and the leg room is ok, a little more would be nice but doesnt bother me, what I need is more head room, I've tried the seat in every position, I can lean back more but then I'm further away from the steering wheel and shifter than I'd like.

I'd prefer to not have to change out the seats just yet if I dont have to. I'd have to worry about matching colors and finding some that I like and can afford etc. I really just need 1" more or there about. Is there any kind of modification I can do to the stock seats? I cant seem to find anything about buying seat rails that are lower than the stock ones but that would probably be ideal.

Any suggestions welcome, thanks.

Get some Del Sol seats.

Yeah, like I said, I'm looking for suggestions other than swapping seats. I already know I can do that.

Is it that the Del Sol seats are lower themselves or is it the seat rails? If its the seat rails, would they fit on the Integra seats and would they mount the same as the Integra rails? That would give me some room probably, if that works.

If I had to buy some Del Sol seats, can I take the skin off of the Integra seats and put them on the Del Sol seats to keep the interior matching?

Edit: I found some OBX Racing Seat Brackets on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-R...spagenameZWDVW

Would those match up to the stock Integra seats and the slide rails?

The seats themselves are lower. You wouldn't be able to fit the integra covers on the delsol seats, the seats are completely different. I doubt there is a way to modify the stock rails to sit lower, and I doubt changing to aftermarket rails will make any difference at all. You're going to have to swap the seats.

Ok so does anyone know if there is a way to lower the factory seats? I guess I could have one custom made, if that would even work. There's gotta be one out there that would work though.

Consider the forces that the seat frame has to cope with in the event of a collision. If you modify the seat base or the connection to the frame rails, you run the risk of catastrophic failure in a severe collision. I would not modify the frames; the risk of failure isn't worth it.

Instead, you could consider having custom cushions built for the OEM frame. A competent upholstery shop could fabricate a new seat cushion that is firmer and thinner, which would grant you about an inch of headroom by positioning the seat lower on the frame. That said, the lack of dampening may make the ride too harsh for long trips. :dunno:

Realistically, the most logical choice IMO would be to purchase a set of Del Sol seats and have them reupholstered to match the rest of the interior. Yes, the design of the seat is different, but you get the lower seating postion and preserve the dampening effect of an OEM seat cushion.

Ok, I will take that in to consideration, can it be done?

I'd probably be fine with this if I can have the seats stay they color they are.

i dont think your getting it yes you could modify the brackets. but then it becomes to unsafe they are that way for a reason. if you are really that bothered by it you can just have new seats made like said before and the will take the spot of oem seats. or you can have del sol seats matched up. but anything other then that would be considered unsafe and is not recomended.
