Default Skunk2 test pipe

This weekend I am going to the track and want to put a test pipe on just for a few runs. I have a 99GSR (obd2) and the factory cat has 2 02 bungs. The skunk2 test pipe I have only accomodates one. The questions are....Should I weld another bung on, should I do the temporary tinfoil trick as mentioned in several other threads, or just zip tie it up for the several runs? If I zip tie it up and the cel light comes on will the comp go into a protection mode?

Your factory cat should only have one o2 bung in the rear of the cat...the other is in the header.

The 94-99 GSR has both bungs in the cat.

Well, sort of. The 94-95 GSR has the primary O2 sensor in the cat as well, but it doesn't have a secondary O2 sensor, so that would make my last statement partially false.

Thanks for the response but I still dont have a clear answer. I know my cel light will trigger, and I now know my A/F will be off... What I need to know is if I should I take the time to weld another bung for 4 or 5 runs down the strip or if the tinfoil trick works as a temp fix..thanks.

If it was me, I'd weld a bung for future use. The tinfoil trick will be fine for a few runs though.
