I say if you have the money for the engine now, then get it and just have it sit in your garage until you have the money for a tranny and the swap.

a clean 75k mile LS for $2500? dude, fuck the deposit, take that thing home NOW! swap the gsr motor in when you have a chance, but use the gsr tranny. the ls gearing will kill that gsr motor.

lol yeah i got the car yesterday. It needs slight, slight body work. Has some scratches. But runs perfect. ABS light is on. Im trying to get the engine from my friend but cant come up with the money yet. if i do get te money im definatly gonna build it in my living room, lol. I have a guy that had a GSR engine and tranny with like 40-50k on it, with everything for a swap but wants like $3000. I guy on HAN is looking for one and told him about it cuz its far to rich for my blood.

sounds like my car. fisrt thing you try is bleeding the abs (not the brake calipers, it's different) see if it will start working. chances are it will work for a while. you probably need to replace the accumulator. i was trying to wrestle the entire abs unit out of my gsr yesterday so that i could put it in my ls. it's a pain in the cuz the gsr is crashed so i have less room to work with.

if the light is on, the abs doesn't work. the brakes still work, you just don't have abs

The only time my abs light came on was when it was raining really hard outside. The next time i got in my car it was off and hasn't been on ever sense.
